Merivaara, a Finnish medical equipment manufacturer,  will present its hi-tech operating tables at the Shenzhen  trade show in April. Included will be the Promerix, the most advanced model in the company’s wide range of  operating tables.

The Promerix is a 275/325 kg safe working load operating table (with or without sliding top) with electro-hydraulic movements controlled by software. It is a mobile table, making patient positioning and clean-up fast and easy. It has programmable positions and can be used for all kinds of surgeries with the help of several accessories, especially for neurosurgery, spine-and disk surgery, shoulder arthroscopy and orthopedic surgery. The table’s top sections are detachable with quick-connecting latches. A wired hand control, remote hand control, and foot control are available. The lowest position of the table makes it optimal for eye-ENT procedures.

The prestigious Groningen University Medical Center in The Netherlands is equipped with Merivaara operating tables. Mr. K. van der Wal, chief purchasing officer at the University, explains: “Costs are a major factor for us in all our operations, including capital equipment. However, we will not compromise on quality and we insist on top quality equipment in all our departments.  We are extremely pleased with the performance, reliability, and durability of Merivaara’s equipment.” Of 35 operating rooms, 28 are equipped with the Promerix or Opera operating tables.

The center is one of very few hospitals in the world that performs all organ transplants.  Its 35 operating rooms also make it one of the biggest surgical hospitals in Europe.
